If you grew up or lived in Milwaukee in the 60's and 70's you know who this show is about - the one and only Samson. This local celebrity was the most famous lowland gorilla to ever call Milwaukee County Zoo home.
Everyone has memories of him, some based on experience, others based on rumor. Wasn't he the largest gorilla in captibity? Didn't he break out a few times? Aren't his offspring unusally large? This MPTV special sets the record straight as we remember Samson and compare his life at the zoo with those of our current gorillas.
Thanks to the Milwaukee Public Museum, Samson has come home again, 25 years after his death. See him again, smile a lot, and learn a few things about gorillas by buying Samson: Then & Now.
Special Thanks to Sam LaMalf, the Milwaukee Public Museum and the Milwaukee County Zoo for their generous assistance in this project.
