Our Philosophy With a relatively small staff, the MPTV Friends fundraising succeed! Most of the credit for this success belongs to hundreds of community minded volunteers actively participating at On-Air Membership Drives, The Great TV Auction and Special Events throughout the year. We believe that The Friends is a volunteer organization because volunteers are vital members of our team. Our volunteer turnover is very low because people enjoy the time they spend volunteering with The Friends. We offer a variety of opportunities and different responsibility levels that match to their interests and talents. Our volunteers are committed to public television and they know their effort provides Milwaukee excellence in public television broadcasting because of the funds they help raise.
2006/2007 Volunteers Recognized Did you know that every year volunteers with 100 or more hours are recognized at an annual volunteer recognition banquet? In the fiscal year of 2006/2007 over 33,165 hours were supplied by more than 2800 volunteers. Thanks to all of you one more time for this extraordinary contribution of time and talents.

The Volunteer of the Year is Barb Belland. Barb is a long time leadership volunteer for the Great TV Auction. Barb has been active with the Friends at Special Events, On-Air Membership Drives, Great TV Auction and as always brings her enthusiasm and spirit to help whenever asked.
The Spirit Award was presented to the 5th District VFW Post and Auxiliary for their participation both at the Great TV Auction and during On-air Membership Drives.
